AI content, web design and general AI usage has been around for a while now in the digital marketing space but, with the launch of chatGPT and other AI tools and platforms, the market is promising to be ever changed by tools that can do a job quicker and with similar levels of results when compared to humans. Now that isn’t to say that AI content is going to put everyone out of a job and we’ll all just be replaced by a series of increasingly advanced robots. However, it does mean that the way you conduct your business needs to change. It’s no longer good enough to ignore the future and these tools neither is it good enough to rely too much on AI to do your job for you.


The clever marketer will use AI to do their job faster while still providing that central voice. It cannot be stressed enough that AI will change content forever and one of the key benefits is that it can provide content quickly. However, an AI can only read so much information. There are going to be parts that feel unnatural, parts that feel repetitive and parts that feel like everyone else. Your job is to take advantage of this. Your business already is targeted towards a specific audience, a specific niche and it is targeted to accentuate a specific USP or unique selling point. Content is potentially now becoming easier to write at the risk of being more generic. Nothing has really changed in how you should conduct yourself and your business, it’s just that now the scale is going to grow. 


Your job is to take the AI script and craft something new with it. Take the data, the structure and shape it so that it better reflects your individual voice, your business’ USP and the things that customers are looking for in your business. Think of it like a website which has already gone through various automation processes over the years with the rise of template websites and DIY websites. There are millions of websites out there in your space and the likelihood is that they look quite similar to yours. Similar pages, similar content, similar style. The difference is in how your content, images and unique persona helps create something totally unique to your business. You are taking the template and redefining it to better suit your business and to better enable your business to reach the target audience you want to reach.


ChatGPT and other AI tools should not be seen as the solution to your content strategy. It should be seen as another tool. Something you can use to better optimizes your time and to cut down on research. It will give you a template, it is up to you to customise your content to better reflect your business and avoid becoming yet another generic voice in an overcrowded space. ChatGPT is an exciting resource but it needs to be driven by you. 


ChatGPT will absolutely redefine content, it will make posts easier to create and it will spark a content revolution. However, the generic and directly copied content will be hit hard once Google and the other big digital platforms catch up. You need to be ahead of the curve.
